Save Your Photos

What if your home was destroyed tomorrow? Would you loose all of your photos?

Here's our story inside ScanMyPhotos.com
They have machines that can scan 1000 family photos in 5 minutes!

If you have a scanner, can scan your photos at home and save them on an external hard drive.

You can also take digital photos of your film photos. You'll get suprisingly good quality captures when you do that. Just make sure the lighting is right and use a tripod or the table to stabilize your camera.

You can also send your photos to a bulk scanning company like ScanMyPhotos.com in Irvine, California. For a set price they will scan a box of photos for you.

Finally, you should take those photos and make several copies of them. Send a hard drive to a family member who can store it. Keeping photos off-site can insure you have a copy in case your home is destroyed. I also highly recomend storing your photos in "the cloud" (I hate that term) on a photosharing site like Flickr.
All this work not only saves your precious family memories... you'll find it strengthens your family relationships. When people can see old photos online of family members who are long gone... they'll thank you for it. It also starts interesting conversations.

Among those posts I've seen, this is the most particular one, and I think the blogger must have spent lots of time on it, thank you so much!

Your photos remind me of the glory days of film photography. Those were the days when photographers have to depend on their keen eye to details.

We cannot prevent natural disasters but we can save the things we treasure. Photo albums are still exist in our time and good thing that you mentioned that there are scanning companies that can scan lots of pictures for us. They can fix old photos and restore its beauty. We need to have time and skill in photo editing if we want to do it on our own. The good thing is that there are scanning companies that can do those things for us.
