The Dog Ate My Blog
5:08 AM April 3, 2008
This may be the briefest blog ever; and that does not indicate a lack of trying to be dutiful and taking this special opportunity to communicate with all of you in a serious way…..it’s just…it’s just I have had some issues this week.
1. I had to get a new set of tires unexpectedly on Monday
2. My six year old daughter has a “big report due” about Oceans on Thursday and we didn’t get ‘the right sand’ for her diorama.
3. I have friends visiting from out of town this week.
4. Given the choice between reading this really great column in the New York Times on Wednesday night about how the upcoming economic apocalypse may actually make us fatter; or writing my own blog….I read the article.
Speaking of quick “reads”…..another web site I think is great is called “L.A. Observed”….I believe it can be found at www.laobserved.com
Anyway, the site spends a lot of time talking about KTLA and the Tribune Company’s new owner Sam Zell and several new hires. One of them, a guy named; well, I forgot his name; he is in charge of ‘Strategic Thinking,’ and he sends out memos; tons of them with his wild ‘pie in the sky’ ideas about newspapers and television. His biggest gripe about TV so far; that the sound is bad. That all of TV sounds the same. As the kids would say; "whatever."
I will only let blog readers in on this; on Tuesday I am going to “quit” KTLA and then pretend to have Ryan Seacrest hire me. Wait, I already did that. Must run, seriously though, we have a great gag for today; Thursday at . Be sure to Tivo if you aren’t home.
Thanks for watching and for reading and for your active participation in the on-line community here. I am off next week; and thus have two full weeks to prepare an amazing blog; which I won’t compose a minute and a half before it is due.
