Hunting For Holiday Travel Deals
10:42 AM December 13, 2007
I've been spending many hours searching travel websites, looking for last-minute deals. And getting very frustrated.
Like so many other people in this country, I believe it is my right as an American to be able to fly somewhere warm for the holidays and still find a bargain, even now.
So far, I've had no luck.
What we've all heard about the airlines is true. They ARE flying smaller planes. They are fully booked. And they are offering fewer nonstops.
That means fewer affordable choices for us. It also means if you want a deal, you'd better plan way in advance (which I admit, I failed to do).
Thus, if you are looking for a flight to Hawaii for Christmas, you will find tickets. But it will cost you between $800 and $1000 roundtrip.
And if Cancun is your destination of choice, would you be willing to fly to Detroit or Cincinnati and hang around for 10 hours in order to catch a connecting flight? And still have it cost an outrageous amount of money? Would you consider leaving out of Tijuana?
Palm Springs is looking better and better. Or what do you say we stay home?

Palm Springs, CA is beautiful and fun in the winter time.
People from around the world fly to Palm Springs for our fantastic weather.
Many people from Southern California forget that the Palm Spring has the best weather in the world. It averages less then 3 inches of rain a year. Why risk going to Cancun like you mentioned that averages 50 inches of rain a year when Palm Springs is much sunnier.
Palm Springs has fantastic restaurants and hotels for every budget. It has large resorts, chain, and budget hotels. It also has specialty hotels such as clothing optional resorts, bed and breakfasts, and gay and lesbian hotels.
You will have a great, fun vacation in Palm Springs. For more information go to http://palmsprings.com
