Reporter Vs. Anchor
8:23 AM March 6, 2008
An old friend sent me this link to a YouTube clip that shows a remarkable exchange between a TV news reporter and an anchor.
It gets downright hostile. Now it's true plenty of reporters sometimes get annoyed with those who sit in the anchor chair and vice-versa. But in this case, there's open warfare.
It happened in NYC over the summer. It's hilarious.

I just wanted you guys at KTLA new my take on the rising gas price in So.Cal, and what I do to try and pay the least for gas each time I fill up. What I do is keep my tank topped off & every time I drive past a gas station with low prices, I stop & top off my tank. If you think about it as you drive & you gas tank goes down over a few days the PRICE of gas has gone up more & more each day. so when you go to fill up again in a few days you will pay more cause the price has jumped up. BUT if you keep your tank topped off every day or so YOU end up paying a little less for your gas that day & save a little, WHY give the BIG GAS COMPANYS all your hard earned MONEY. I hope you will Share this on your NEWS CAST & Feel Free to give me a call or e-mail me back.
Thanks Steve Zee

Definitely more animosity going on between the reporter and the anchor than a dispute over interviewing prowess.
This type of thing must go on all the time, but doesn't get airtime. Does the 3-minute delay not pertain to the news?
Two weeks ago I watched a couple of CBS anchors play a game of oneupmanship while reporting a live breaking news story. They have not co-anchored together since. Competition raises its ugly head. Who'll get credit for that story come Emmy time?
