Die-Hard Lakers Fans Don't Give Up

11:11 AM  June 13, 2008

After the Lakers' devastating loss to Boston Thursday night, some fans might give up.

Not this guy.

I ran into Kevin Hayes near the corner of Hollywood Blvd. and Wilton.

He was wearing a Lakers hat proudly -- even though his team suffered an embarrassing loss in which they gave up a 24-point lead.

Kevin still believes in miracles.

Don't tell him no team has ever managed to win a championship after being behind 3-to-1.

He's certain LA can still beat Boston.

By the way, Kevin tells me he's a recovering addict, now living in a rehab center.  He says he's been sober six months.

I wished him the best.  If the Lakers ever need a yell leader, he's the guy.

Tonight's the night.. It's do or die for the purple and gold.. We will live to tell another day! GO LAKERS!!

Although it's painfully obvious the Lakers are woefully outmatched by the Celtics . . . GO LAKERS GO!

Sorry, I meant to omit against.

Flaco, They may be going back to Boston but I wouldn't count on a miracle. I thought about you "choking yourself" on television after game 2. I'm so glad you posted after game 4 to show that you didn't choke yourself to death. They sure looked ugly tonight but still won. It ain't over until it's over. Look at the Boston Red Sox's comeback against a couple years back. Until then nobody thought that could happen.

Game 4. What a disappointment. The Lakers looked sophomoric next to the Celtics. Embarrassing.

Unless the Lakers are holding back trying to lull the Celtics into a false sense of superiority or this is a new Phil Jackson Zen strategy (wink) they may have a chance. Otherwise it's over.

Keep the faith, Kevin. I'll be there Sunday night praying for a miracle, too.

GO LAKERS GO!!!

Laker's Drool! EAST COAST has been's, rule. How ugly is that? GO CHARGER'S!

This guy has experienced a miracle of his own feat first hand- "He says he's been sober six months." A 2nd miracle isn't too much to ask for, is it? So, I'm in total agreement with Kevin.. It ain't over 'til it's over.. We have 3 games left to play, let's hope our Lakers go out there and play their hearts out!! Along with Mr. Kevin Hayes, I too still believe!!

Mr. Spillman,
Happy Fathers day! Don't shake the fist at this, a great celebration. You earned it.
