Jared -

You should know better, FACTS don't work here.... How dare you try to use actual statistics to back up your points! lol

From Dr. John Conca,

The U.S. Post Service was established in 1775 - they've had 234 years to get it right; it is broke, and even though heavily subsidized, it can't compete with private sector Fed Ex and UPS services.

Social Security was established in 1935 - they've had 74 years to get it right; it is broke.

Fannie Mae was established in 1938 - they've had 71 years to get it right; it is broke. Freddie Mac was established in 1970 - they've had 39 years to get it right; it is broke. Together Fannie and Freddie have now led the entire world into the worst economic collapse in 80 years.

The War on Poverty was started in 1964 - they've had 45 years to get it right; $1 trillion of our hard earned money is confiscated each year and transferred to "the poor": it hasn't worked.

Medicare and Medicaid were established in 1965 - they've had 44 years to get it right; they are both broke; and now our government mentions them as models for all U.S. health care.

AMTRAK was established in 1970 - they've had 39 years to get it right; last year they bailed it out as it continues to run at a loss!

This year, a trillion dollars was committed in the massive Stimulus Bill of 2009; it shows NO sign of working, it's been used to increase the size of government across America , and raise government salaries while the rest of us suffer from economic hardships. It has yet to create a single new private sector job. Our national debt projections (approaching $10 trillion) have increased 400%.

"Cash for Clunkers" was established in 2009 and went broke in 2009 - after 80% of the cars purchased turned out to be produced by foreign companies, and dealers nationwide are buried under bureaucratic paperwork demanded by a government that is not yet paying them what was promised.

So with a perfect 100% failure rate and a record that proves that each and every government "service" turns into a disaster, how could any American trust our government to run or even set policies for America 's health care system? COPIED FROM “Legislative News from AACSC” 09/28/2009

Maybe each of us has to take personal responsibility for our health. Health care reform starts with a nation-wide education program on natural health & preventive measures like how to eat right, exercise and preventive measures like chiropractic care, and safe alternatives such as homeopathy and herbs with freedom of choice. Please let others know about the above track record - before 2010.

I know Dr. Conca personally for over 25 years...

Jozielee-

Can't blame me for trying.

i've tried facts...
i've tried humor...
so, I thought i'd try using your own words.

Well, back to the drawing board...

Nice try, -mike. I'm still not convinced.

Thank you both for stating the OBVIOUS that the Government has shown they CANNOT budget money efficiently, thus proving why a Nationalized health Reform ran by the Government is WRONG! They have shown, to be very inept at handling and making decisions with OUR money! Which is why I do not trust them to CONTROL how we should pay for our health needs...

I agree with you Josielee, I am always telling that all the people that is working in the government in time of crisis like we have now have to cut for starters their own payments, then cut out the expenses all they have, like cars, gas, meals, etc, etc, etc., some time ago I said that our governor might have cut his payment too, and someone answer me that he does not get any payment, but what about for the gas for the plane that brought him every weekend with all his family to LA, what about - like I said before - cars, meals, etc, etc, etc.... I think mostly every family in California are cutting almost all our expenses for things we can't afford now, so why not them?

The university isn't any different from any other organization. The folks at the top, who have all the money thus all the power, will not take a pay cut to give the bottom 1% a break. Might as well get used to it, kids.

WALL STREET continues to pass out bonuses while the little guy loses his home. During his interview with Larry King last night, Michael Moore said a house goes into foreclosure every 7 seconds in America. GOVERNMENT - the state legislature keeps telling us California is broke but they aren't taking a pay cuts. LOS ANGELES SCHOOL DISTRICT is laying off teachers, but I haven't heard that board members are taking a pay cuts. Why must the little guy always suffer?

To the students who are protesting today, consider this a day for exercising your Constitutional rights. The students and teachers will feel better for speaking up. But nothing will change. Look at our gas prices. Last year we protested by not buying gas when the prices inched toward $4. Gas prices came down . . . for a while. Last week gas was $3.33 per gallon in my neighborhood. No one is talking about boycotting or sitting in or picketing. Guess it's just too hot to care this time around.
