Can L.A.'s DWP Learn Something from Long Beach?

In Long Beach, water main breaks are rare. City officials say it's because they've been replacing the pipes for years.

Sorry, but I can't muster up much enthusiasm to talk about broken pipes when the city of Long Beach has solved the same problem and is willingly giving LA advice.
LA won't listen and continues to run around like Chicken Little yelling "The sky is falling." No, it's not. Old pipes need to be replaced. Just get it done. If the city can find $900million dollars to build the Gold Line, they can find money to replace pipes before they break and damage homes of innocent victim's who happen to live in the water's path.

Eric,
It was such a pleasure to finally get to meet you in person this morning on Pine Ave. in Long Beach!
Thank you for being so kind!

Eric,
I doubt the DWP will learn anything from Long Beach. They whole of the DWP needs to be overhauled in they way they do things. Also, Los Angeles City needs to stop looking at the DWP as an ATM. If the DWP flags money for the replacement of water pipes, then that's what that money is to be used for. They also need to cut costs in upper management and replace union workers on bigger projects so they can be completed in a timely manner, not take years to do nine miles of pipe.

Like I said before, the pipes are very old, and since long time ago I think they must had been replaced, now for some are late for the others to much work ahead. Eric Do you know what happened with the water at the broked places? The DWP is doing something about it?. We will be paying for that? if so, How much will pay?
