My Truth by Sam Rubin

Wall Street, Main Street, Broadway + Arm-Wrestling Paul Rudd; Sam's in New York City

Hello from New York City....

Three press junkets....four nights....AND three trips to Broadway. Not much to complain about at all.

The press continues to talk and talk and talk about the economy and I have always assumed a direct connection between Wall Street and Main Street; but on this visit to New York City, a few snap observations;
1.  Plane....totally full.
2. Street....totally full.
3. Broadway Shows....totally full.

Stores seems less crowded and some fancy restaurants I walked by, seem totally empty.

My wife Leslie is with me and we had one experienced I shared in an e-mail to two friends of mine, who are both bankers....my e-mail below; and their responses.

Hi Pals...
Thought you would enjoy this....as Leslie and I were having lunch today
at Bergdorf/Goodman (apparently she remains unaware of the worldwide global
collapse) we sit next to this banker guy and his rich chick
friend and she
is telling story after story about friends at Coach and Estee Lauder
getting fired; and then she says to her friend..."Is it GD 2, is it GD
2?"  And I keep thinking to myself what is GD 2....is it G-d Damn 2....what
is it....and finally the banker guy says, "I don't think it is a great
depression, just a minor depression."

So now I know what GD 2 is....

Subject: RE: Sammy in New York
Amusing yet too close to home.  But, I still remember one of the best six months
of life was when I lost my job.  Our kids won't need to go to college....  not
needed in an agrarian society.

Thats a great story. My friend Dave Thompson who is a teacher in San Diego was
once substitute teaching a high school history class and the period they
were learning about was the Great Depression. He had a hangover that day,
so he decided to show a film about it, but instead the film turned out be
about depression, which he showed anyway. Things are bad. Smith and Wesson
is up 63% this year. No joke. I think a minor depression is when your
neighbor gets laid off. Lets stay in Vegas until the m
money runs out.

Okay....back to the blog. I feel very comfortable review movies and television shows
and I know there has been some cerned expressed here that I don't review movies
on line enough; in any case, I feel less qualified to review live theater. I have no
expertise, but I know what I like; and one new show I really, really like is
called "Impressionism." Jeremy Irons and Joan Allen star as a photographer and
a gallery owner. The play is still in previews, so I think technically, it is
not fair yet to review it....but guess what, it is GREAT. I was so touched by
certain scenes; it is playing in New York City through July...and I would make the trip
just to see these great stars in such a wonderful romantic evening. Really well done.
Also saw the Tony Winning "In The Heights," which again shows to me the difference
between theater in New York and elsewhere. On Broadway, EVERYONE can sing..wail..
great, great voices. In Los Angeles, I often think you're lucky if the whole cast
can sing. Lastly, one other play in previews; "God of Carnage," with an all-star cast
including James Gandolfini and Jeff Daniels; a very tough evening, but certainly well done.
From heavy drama to big comedy, one of the junkets here is for "I Love You, Man," which
features Jason Segal and Paul Rudd. Both stars in a fantatsic mood; I think, they think this movie
is going to be a big hit and they could well be right.
Anyway, Paul and I arm wrestle; we'll show you that part on TV. What the small screen
may not capture is the genuine rapport these two guys have for one another. The jury
may be out on if the movie is a total comic gem; but you get the sense these two will be pals forever
and there is always something to be said for that.

She was one of my favorite actresses as well. A class act. She and her husband Liam Neeson did not live their lives in the Media like some Hollywood couples. My sympathy to her family for their loss.

One of my favorite actresses just died today. Natasha Richardson. One of my favorite movies was largely becuase of her part.."The Parent trap"

A skiing trip ...no less. So sad.

I am curious ( a new identity ha ha) what are the "CLUES" and please show me the I record I would love to see it. I am not as acquainted with this blogging esoteric crap as you. Share your evidence please.

"No one is posting off my IP address but me."

You have shown that you are a liar so why would anyone believe you now?

As IT GEEK #35642 pointed out. The clues are there. Hahahaha what a maroon.

I am Forrest not Mel or Sandy or anyone else. If Paul disagrees with you he accuses you of posting under assumed identities. Shoot I'm using my real name here .... what a doe doe I am. Paul are you now IT GEEK #35642 as well how many other names do you go by? How by the way do you have the ability of checking IP addresses on KTLA's site??? wouldn't that entail a crime of hacking? No one is posting off my IP address but me. Enjoy your meek and dreary existence.

"or am I Sam's evil twin"

That's an oxymoron, right?

Then I wonder how one would explain the same IP address for those various identities.

Well, I guess there's always Multiple Personality Disorder. That would explain the somewhat psychotic blogging comments and the complete total disregard for correct grammar!

Paul,
is that the best you can do? I was hoping for more....keep it coming. I'm having a good day so far and I know don't like that. Oh by the way this is Mel not Forrest. I am a real person I promise or am I Sam's evil twin? Either way hope your day is as good as mine. Oh by the way...on vacation sitting in front of my computer with nothing to do today. Oh yeah did I mention I'm on my 2nd glass of margaritas on the rocks with salt on the rim and a squeez of lemon juice. Keep posting Paul, love where things are going.

"Mel;
I commend you for your standing up to the bully's attacks here in the bloggers from hell pages."

Taking to yourself again? I guess a sack of excrement like you would have to. Pretty pathetic that you have to post under different names to support your views.

Mel,
ROFLMAO

Well put. Somehow its kinda like watching Jerry Springer too too long. hahaha

I would stay away but all of you are just too much fun! It's amazing what control I have over all of you. I don't care how much you respond to this post. As a matter of fact I welcome it. I love to read your comments, do I care probably not. Will it change anything NO! Will you still keep coming back day after day after day? YES! Why because that's all you do. You don't like the show you don't like the site YET both are still going strong? I guess the hand full of people on this blog don't make up enough people who have left in order for there to be changes to the format. I thank you for responding to this blog it makes for time killing moments. Thanks for making this thing so much fun. Oh by the way I do not know Forrest or Sandy or Debbie but thanks for giving me so much credit and for the wonderful company you have placed me into. Thank you Forrest and Sandy and Debbie...smile wink and oh yeah ha-ha.

Paul,
I'm glad I brought a smile to your frowning face. I hope the fecal matter encrusted around that infected wound on your face you call a mouth doesn't fall into your keyboard and make it impossible for you to use it. We would all miss your poetic inspiration for today. What a horrible loss.

Mel;
I commend you for your standing up to the bully's attacks here in the bloggers from hell pages.

"The bulk of you make me sick. Small minded bitter and mean. Not worth knowing or wasting time attempting to communicate with. Get a life it's obvious no one ere has one. Except Sam he appears to have a happy family. Are you guys jealous??"

So you think telling people that their opinions and views are wrong just because you say so is your way of communicating? That needs some work. One does not walk into a room full of people and say you all stink and expect to win people over.

We have no idea what Sam's life is really like. Since we have no idea if anything he posts is fact or fiction. Many writers only loosely base events on their or their family lives.

Everyone here has a life, including you, as worthless as it is. How we choose to spend part of our time is up to us.

And to be jealous, one would have to have something the other doesn't. What does Sam have that I would be jealous of? I will tell you, NOTHING that I have seen so far.

And if everyone here makes you sick, then leave. I doubt anyone would miss you.

Oh, one other thing bub. It does bring a smile to my face knowing I make you sick. So you should be happy that you have brighten someone's day.

The bulk of you make me sick. Small minded bitter and mean. Not worth knowing or wasting time attempting to communicate with. Get a life it's obvious no one ere has one. Except Sam he appears to have a happy family. Are you guys jealous??

Camille those are ALL very excellent questions that you ask of Sam. Unfortunately, they are ALL questions that have been asked of him in the past. If you want questions answered about KTLA's own house, so to speak, you won't get those answers from the Entertainment Bureau Chief. Unfortunately no one at KTLA seems to want to answer any of those questions that we the viewers want to know.
Good luck in finding the answers to those questions, because we would ALL like to know those answers, especially the whereabouts of Willa and Bill Smith!

Good Morning, Sam

I didnt know where else to ask this question. What has happened to Cher Calvin, Bill Smith, Willa Sandmeyer and Walter Richard. Also noticed that Damon Andrews is not doing the sports on the nightly new. What is going on? Looks like alot of the good reporters are not there anymore. I really enjoy the KTLA news family and liked alot of the "missing reporters". What is KTLA doing or better yet where are they heading? Any news about what is going on never seems to make it to any one of the news stories.
Thank you

Shadow, or Mel, or Sandy in law enforcement, or Debbie or whatever identity YOU happen to be today. That's pretty hypocritical and very pot-kettle once again with your false accusations. Oh, and just so you know sweetie, the correct spelling is; "anonymity"! Perhaps you could go back to school and educate yourself since you seem to have so much time to waste. anonominity - how pathetic!

Shadow said:

This coming from someone called shadow. Interesting.

Gloria or no mama palin or whoever you are today. U are just as bad as all the others that hide in anonominity!!!

Sam
Monday morning marks the 1 year anniversary since KTLA changed our beloved format for the 9 o'clock hour. For ONE year now we have asked, begged, pleaded, with you to please give us the ratings numbers for the 9 o'clock hour. Unfortunately, those many requests have fallen upon your deaf ears.
How about for the 1 year anniversary since "Black Monday" as several of us refer to, you give us a year's graph chart showing the ratings for KTLA's 9 o'clock hour?
That's a simple request, that you could probably even get your daughter to draw up - and her teacher might even give her extra credit!!! So it would be a win win situation!
A year Sam, a year we have been asking for this type of "entertainment" news - will you finally cave to our request, or will you continue to ignore those of us whose dollars paid to your sponsors, eventually pay for your salary and keep you employed at KTLA? Enquiring minds STILL want to know Sam!

Mel you really ought to be careful who you threaten on here and who you accuse with false accusations! I'm just saying....
People are likely to equate you with "Sandy in law enforcement" too....OOPS! Did I say too much?!?! LOL! Wouldn't want you to be brought up on felony charges for impersonating a law enforcement officer!

"CEASE AND DESIST SUCH PRACTICE. YOU DO NOT HAVE A CLUE AS TO WHAT YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT YOU DO NOT KNOW ME AND HAVE NO CLUE AS TO WHERE I HAVE BEEN OR WHAT I HAVE DONE> JUST LEAVE ME BE> I THOUGHT WE COULD HAVE A DECUSION BUT I WAS WRONG"

First of all, don't tell me want to do. Second, I know what I'm talking about and I don't give a damn what you have been through or done.

You started this, or did you forget?. I told you at the start you were looking for a fight. I wanted to end it there. But you continued, not only with me but with PLM and Bill as well.

You start fights and you cry when the other person fights back. What did you expect? You said you wanted a decusion, I think you mean discussion. You should look up the defination of discussion. Because you are a bit mixed up on what it means. It doesn't mean picking fights.

Yeah, Jason

it all one big conspericy and I'm the blog KTLA blog police and can take down what i want when i want so becareful. You don't want to upset me. As for the other two journalist, only a matter of time before they say or do something that upsets someone and the hostility goes towards them. Now go about your weekend and have some fun and becareful you never know where I might end up. HA HA
